An at-home, ML-enabled gut health monitor.

Overview

SNIFR is an at-home gut health monitor that uses gas data and machine learning to turn everyday digestive signals into meaningful health insight. The challenge

Gut health is notoriously hard to measure outside a lab. The product had to capture useful signal in an uncontrolled home environment, collect data reliably on accessible hardware, and look and feel like a consumer device.

What we did

  • Selected and characterized the gas sensing approach, validating that home-environment signal was rich enough to learn from
  • Designed the device hardware and embedded firmware around low-friction daily use
  • Built the data pipeline and trained ML models that translate raw sensor data into clear gut-health indicators
  • Engineered the design for manufacturing so prototypes could become real production units

Outcome

A working at-home monitor that delivers daily lab-grade insight from a consumer device, with a hardware and ML stack designed to improve as the dataset grows.
